DISCUSSION COURSES

NWEI courses provide an enjoyable, supportive setting for:

  • Engaging in stimulating discussion, and
  • Examining personal values and habits, and
  • Making personal changes if desired.

These self-facilitated informal discussion courses (also called study circles) are attended in small groups in a home, workplace at noon, center of faith, or other place where people naturally gather.

NWEI has produced these discussion courses:

  • Global Warming/Changing course addresses global warming and its implications.
     
  • Voluntary Simplicity addresses the distractions of modern society that keep us from caring for ourselves, our relationships, and our environment.
     
  • Exploring Deep Ecology addresses core values and how they affect the way we view and treat the earth
     
  • Discovering a Sense of Place focuses on knowing and protecting our place.
     
  • Choices for Sustainable Living explores the meaning of sustainable living and the ties between lifestyle choices and their impact on the earth.
     
  • Globalization and Its Critics a explores how global trade is affecting the environment, local economies, and social and cultural customs throughout the world.
     
  • Healthy Children - Healthy Planet looks at the challenges of raising children in a consumer culture and ways to help them connect with nature.

    * insight into agricultural practices promoting ecological well-being
